![]() ![]() #APPLE EGPU SUPPORT MAIN DISPLAY HOW TO#At the end of the long Microsoft support sessions, they claimed it had something to do with the Bootcamp Windows 10 install and drivers, because of course Windows 10 can work with 3 displays with the Iris Pro Graphics card I have. Officially, the initial Apple Silicon MacBook Pro - the MacBook Pro 'M1' 8-Core 3. This is a short introduction about how to start using your external graphics card, also known as eGPU, after installing the PCIe card in your Thunderbolt chassis and connecting it to your computer. Both technicians seemed confused as the 2nd external display was showing under the audio, microphone, and port options but not being recognized in the display settings when "detecting." Still all 3 displays work in OS 10.15.4 flawlessly. Without getting too technical about it, the general concept involves hooking up a regular laptop to an external graphics. #APPLE EGPU SUPPORT MAIN DISPLAY DRIVER#I spent about 3 hours online with Microsoft Support last night, even allowing them Remote Desktop access and after multiple complete driver updates, and even a fresh install of Windows 10.nothing changed. An eGPU, short for (you guessed it) External Graphics Processing Unit is an idea that has been floating around the ether of the Internet for years, and in the R&D departments of video card manufacturers for even longer. But I did try having both plugged into the Macbook and it didnt help. Oh and also have a 3740QM running with XTU at 4.1GHz.(forgive me for being a little off-topic) How do you do that I had a look at XTU and Im not sure what to change or the consequences of it, a little afraid of moving sliders to arbitrary values without understanding what they do. Also checked all type-c ports on Macbook to be sure, they are fine. I did a try with tons of cables - no luck, the issue is still there. They recommended me to try different Display Port cables, Thunderbolt Type-C cables, and try connecting monitors to eGPU using HDMI cables. Currently I do have one Thunderbolt display plugged into the other, then that one plugged into the Macbook as those thunderbolt 2 cables can get real touchy. I contacted Russian local support to solve this issue.
